The Occupational Certificate: Health and Safety Assistant (OHS) Level 4 is a nationally recognised qualification designed to equip learners with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to support occupational health and safety management in the workplace. The course prepares learners to assist with the implementation, coordination, and administration of health and safety systems in accordance with workplace regulations and organisational policies.

This qualification focuses on developing competence in hazard identification, risk assessment, safety documentation, and workplace compliance. Learners gain the ability to support safety officers and managers by maintaining health and safety records, coordinating safety activities, and assisting with incident reporting and emergency preparedness.

Through a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical skills training, and workplace experience, learners develop the capability to contribute to a safe working environment across various industries such as construction, manufacturing, mining, healthcare, and corporate sectors.

Entry Requirements

A senior certificate with an introductory certificate: N3 – An appropriate National Certificate: N3 or, National Senior Certificate or, an equivalent qualification.
